BLOG: Thompson Set To Star On EQUITANA Stage John Thompson is one of the nation’s top dressage stars. While born in New Zealand, he has spent much of his life in Australia, returning to his homeland to follow his heart just a few years ago. He’s now engaged to fellow dressage rider Holly Leach and the two run the very successful JHT Equine in Gordonton, near Hamilton. BLOG: Johnstone Set To Make EQUITANA Debut Clarke Johnstone has represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games and World Equestrian Games. He was New Zealand’s highest placed individual at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games with his sixth placing aboard Balmoral Sensation. The team finished in fourth place. In 2010 he was a member of the bronze medal-winning team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and in 2016, as part of his build-up to Rio, he placed fifth on début at the Badminton Horse Trials. New Zealand Open Dressage - Touch and Go for Hartstone and Ali Baba Dressage star Jody Hartstone has a new take on her beloved horse Ali Baba. The Lusitano stallion had a potentially career-ending paddock accident in mid-April and is only just coming back into light work.
