The company are laying five arenas for EQUITANA Auckland, ranging in size from 20mx20m through to the largest which is around 100mx130m. It’s no mean feat to complete the arenas to the highest of standards in a short period of time for the four day November event for which they are a platinum sponsor.

John Thompson is one of the nation’s top dressage stars. While born in New Zealand, he has spent much of his life in Australia, returning to his homeland to follow his heart just a few years ago.

He’s now engaged to fellow dressage rider Holly Leach and the two run the very successful JHT Equine in Gordonton, near Hamilton.

Thompson and JHT Antonello were the reserve combination at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Clarke Johnstone has represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games and World Equestrian Games. He was New Zealand’s highest placed individual at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games with his sixth placing aboard Balmoral Sensation. The team finished in fourth place.

In 2010 he was a member of the bronze medal-winning team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and in 2016, as part of his build-up to Rio, he placed fifth on début at the Badminton Horse Trials.

20-year-old Lily Tootill is one of New Zealand’s most accomplished and talented young show jumping riders. Competing at Grand Prix level aboard her talented gelding Ulysses NZPH, she has taken out the coveted New Zealand Horse of The Year Show’s Olympic Cup and has travelled abroad to ride and compete on the world stage.

Lily will be competing at this year’s EQUITANA Auckland in the prestigious New Zealand Open - Harrison Lane Jumping Grand Prix and will be blogging her lead up to the event!
