The search is on for the nation’s very best equine educators to share their knowledge, skill and passion for all things equestrian at EQUITANA Auckland.
Applications are now open for perhaps the most sought after part of the international event, which made its very successful debut in New Zealand in 2017 and returns November 21-24 this year.
EQUITANA Auckland education manager Sue McKay says the education programme is one of biggest draw cards at the event. “It has huge appeal,” says Sue. “Most people who visit EQUITANA attend multiple education sessions during the course of the event.”
All are included in the price of a general admission ticket and Sue is hopeful she will be able to build on the 24 sessions a day she coordinated at EQUITANA Auckland in 2017. The sessions are held in a variety of settings – from the classroom to arenas, including smaller ones for the more up close demonstrations like massage, farrier work and chiropractic displays.
“Many visitors to the event plan their days around the education timetable and that’s why the multifaceted super ticket is so popular. There is so much opportunity to learn for free from our very experienced team of educators who are all so passionate about their fields of expertise. I really believe this programme is one of EQUITANA’s best assets.”
Sue, who has worked for many years on EQUITANA Melbourne, says they are often overwhelmed by the sheer number of applications for inclusion in the education programme. “It is highly sought-after – and while it is unpaid, educators receive plenty of marketing and promotional value through their involvement.”
She’s expecting another very diverse list of international educators at EQUITANA Auckland with subjects covered off including training, horsemanship, rider Pilates, mindset coaching, sport, horse health and care, lifestyle, hoof care and so much more.
The sessions are 45 minutes long and each educator has two sessions across the event.
Once the list of educators is complete, EQUITANA will have short promotional videos on the website about each one.
“It is such a tremendous opportunity for those with a wealth of knowledge to share it with others who are so passionate about their horses.”
